X-Men Legends II & Serious Sam 2 Demo

In the past few days, I have been rather consumed with a couple of games:

X-Men Legends II
All and all, X-Men Legends II is a definite step up from its predecessor. {Which I played on the Xbox} There isn’t anything new or groundbreaking in terms of gameplay mechanics, but the cast of characters and the story are more than enough to make it worth playing. Since basically starting collecting comics because of the X-Men, it is very cool to be able to either be an X-Man or a member of the Brotherhood. The game can keep you busy for many days of 3-4 hour sessions, but if you decide to take it on in one sitting, then stock up on the nodoze and figure about 25 hours will be missing from your weekend. Even better, since you can try out different combination of characters to see which combos work best you could loose even more out of your work week too.

What makes this game great though, is the you can hook up with friends over the internet and play cooperatively with a few friends. All the console versions of the game offer four-player coop play, so up to three other players can pick up a controller and jump in on the action at any time while you’re playing. Multiplayer can be a lot of fun as you and your friends combine powers to plow through room after room of enemies. The only problem with co-op play is that the camera angles and zooms keep all players in the frame at the same time. {reminds me of Diablo} If you are able to get the communication going between players, you can keep things moving just fine. Also, if one character gets stuck, you can just hit a button to teleport back to the party. If you don’t have a friend nearby, the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 versions of the game all have online support for up to four players to fight through the campaign cooperatively.

Serious Sam 2 Demo
I suppose I should go on record saying that I wasn’t much of a fan of the first one. It goes seem thought that Croteam a ways since the original Serious Sam game. The demo itself seem to last roughly a couple of minutes in length.

Who would I recommend The Second Encounter to? Anyone that likes First Person Shooter games allot. If you never had the chance to experience other First Person Shooters, then you just might fallin love with this game. You??ll have tons of fun learning how to frag with your friends or being fragged by your friends.
